If you’re on the fence about travelling abroad or hesitant about whether Askari is the right programme for you, all I can say is go for it and you’ll have the time of your life! I was very nervous about travelling abroad on my own for the first time, but as soon as I arrived I was met with a warm welcome to the Askari family and I knew I was in good hands. Everybody here has a common interest in wildlife and you’ll leaving having made friends for life. Each it’s an absolute pleasure to be out on the reserve and you’ll be sure to have some amazing encounters with the incredible wildlife of the South African bush. There is a perfect balance between working out on the reserve and going out for game drives, but animal sightings always take priority which is nice. You will learn so much information from Ed and Katie during your stay, as their knowledge is incredible and no question is off limits. In summary, if you’re like me and looking to gain experience in wildlife conservation whilst travelling at the same time, then I cannot stress how important it is that you pick Askari for your project. You will have the time of your life!
